The Unique Hobby of Ring Making

This project was completed as a final assignment for MEJO 121 and features an interview with Juma Medina, a sophomore at UNC–Chapel Hill who specializes in handcrafted ring making. The video captures her creative process from selecting raw materials to shaping and polishing each piece, while also highlighting the personal meaning behind her work. Through the interview, the project explores the techniques she uses to design and produce each ring, as well as the dedication behind her craft. The video was filmed on an iPhone 17 Pro and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.

The Development of a Runner

This project was completed as part of my MEJO 121 coursework and features an in-depth interview with Ava Burgunder, a sophomore at UNC–Chapel Hill, who shares how running has shaped both her daily life and personal identity. The project blends interview footage with dynamic B-roll and personal photographs to create a more engaging and personal story, allowing viewers to better understand her emotional connection to running beyond just the physical activity. Filmed at the Rams Head Recreation Center, one of the main gyms on campus, the setting reinforces the authenticity of Ava’s routine and the role fitness plays in the student experience at UNC–Chapel Hill. This was edited on Adobe Premiere Pro and filmed on iPhone 17 pro.

First Editing Assignment

This assignment was the first editing project in my MEJO 121 class and introduced us to using Adobe Premiere Pro for video production. The project focused on learning how to assemble clips into a cohesive story using provided footage, while also practicing essential editing skills such as cutting, sequencing, adding transitions, and syncing audio. Through this assignment, I developed a better understanding of how editing choices affect pacing, mood, and storytelling. It also helped me build a foundation in the basic functions of the software, which later allowed me to approach future video projects with more confidence and creativity.

Infographic

This infographic was done following the video, “The Development of A Runner”. It visually tells the story of Ava Burgunder’s running journey from childhood to college using a timeline-style road design that represents personal growth and progress over time. It highlights key stages in her development, including when she first began running, the period when she temporarily stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how a coach later helped her regain motivation and return to the sport.
